"Stay with us. Lord"

The new apostolic letter Mane nobiscum Domine is now available in English. The introduction to the upcoming Year of the Eucharist, it's been long-awaited by tabernacle addicts like me. More later, after I get a chance to noodle on it a bit.

I've gone through it once quickly (too quickly).

It is evident that he cares deeply about the Eucharist and heartily wishes to pass that love on to others.

There is also a bittersweet feeling to the letter. I think he would have loved to have led a mighty renaissance of faith at the turn of the millenium, if it were not for the tragic events of 9/11 and his own infirmity. He is accepting of reality and yet strives to do everything he can, even with his last drop of energy and breath.

Thanks for the link Karen.

I liked section 27 The way of solidarity and 28 At the service of the least.

We're not getting the most out of the eucharist unless we are open to him transforming ourselves into him.

God Bless

Sister Patricia Proctor, a Poor Clare nun out of Spokane, WA just published a book, 201 Stories of the Eucharist", and the Pope's letter on the Eucharist is in there, too. Good stories, too, I might add. Hopefully it will be available in the stores and on the internet soon. I bought two ahead of a certain date and got a bit of a discount. She also published "101 Stories of the Rosary" last year.
